Paper for the moments that shape your life
A print shop takes your file and prints it. Fast, functional, forgettable. We do something different. We sit with you. We ask the questions that matter. We learn what this moment means to you before we design a single thing. Then we build something from the ground up, something that could only ever belong to you.
We are a bespoke stationery studio based in Kampala. We work with brides, families, children, and founders across weddings, events, lifestyle milestones, and brand identities. Every commission is personal. Every piece is considered. Nothing is templated. Nothing is rushed. Nothing leaves our studio without feeling made with genuine care.
We started with weddings because a wedding is one of the most emotionally complex moments a person navigates. But we quickly understood that life is a sequence of moments. The pregnancy. The birth. The first day of school. The business that finally needs materials worthy of its reputation. The letter you still believe in writing. So we stayed. And we grew.
This guide will help you understand what stationery pieces matter most, choose what fits your timeline and budget, explore our complete range, and feel confident working with us from the first message to final delivery.
It is a public expression of honour and intention. A visual thread that holds your celebration together. A keepsake that remains long after the day has passed, the only physical evidence, sometimes, that a moment happened exactly the way it did.
There is something that happens when a person holds something beautiful in their hands. The screen keeps you at a distance. The paper closes it. You feel the weight. The texture. The way the ink sits. You understand, without being told, that someone took time with this.
Our clients are people who notice the things most people miss. The weight of a paper stock, whether a suite feels like a complete world or a collection of separate decisions. They have invested thoughtfully in other areas of their lives and arrived at stationery because they understand it is the missing piece.
You're in the middle of one of the most emotionally dense experiences of your life. You know the first thing your guests will hold is your invitation, and you want it to mean something. You're not looking for a package. You're looking for a partner who will carry this piece so you can put your energy into everything else.
You're not planning a wedding. You're living a life, and you've reached the point where you want it to feel as intentional as you've become. A pregnancy that deserves more than a generic notebook. A birth announcement that invites people into a moment. Personal stationery for the letters you still believe in writing.
You've built something serious. Your reputation is growing. But when a client leaves a meeting with you, what do they hold? If the answer is "nothing much," there's a gap between who you are and how you're presenting. In Kampala, "branding" promises a lot and delivers templates. We don't promise branding. We deliver presence.
You hold the threads of your family together. You ask about the proper structure for the Kwanjula invitation. You understand that getting this right is an act of honour to the living and the departed. We approach cultural commissions with the same care we give a Legacy wedding suite. Nothing is assumed. Nothing is rushed.
A child's first journal should not feel like an afterthought. A notebook they carry to school should be something they're proud of. We create stationery for children that is playful, age-appropriate, and genuinely lovely because the habits children build around their tools matter, and beauty is not a luxury for adults only.
The first thing we do is listen. Not pitch. Not present. Listen. We want to understand the commission before we pick up a pen. Some clients arrive with a full brief. Others arrive with a feeling and no words for it yet. What matters is not how clearly you arrive, it is that you arrive.

Your wedding stationery is the first physical touchpoint of your celebration. It sets expectations, builds anticipation, and communicates without a single spoken word, what kind of day this will be. Long after the flowers have wilted and the cake has been eaten, it is what remains.
You do not need everything here. We will help you prioritise what serves your celebration best.
For someone new to stationery, here is the simplest breakdown. Your invitation suite is typically three core pieces, everything else is an addition built around them.
The envelope is the first thing your guests touch. We treat it accordingly. Everything is enclosed in a carefully chosen outer envelope, with options for:
Each experience is designed to feel like you're being guided into the right lane — not sold to. Read through all five before deciding. The right one will feel obvious. Click any collection to explore what's included.
For moments you want remembered long after the day is over. Designed entirely from scratch, nothing templated, nothing rushed.
On samples: We strongly recommend a physical sample for Legacy projects, especially when using premium paper, foiling, embossing, or layered assembly. Samples are typically ready within 10 business days of deposit.
Because tradition deserves care. Kwanjula, Kuhingira, introduction ceremonies are handled with accuracy and reverence.
This is an add-on for ceremonies where names, titles, structure, language, and symbolism must be correct and where decision-making often includes elders, parents, and extended family committees. This is not a detail. This is an act of honour.
Languages supported: Luganda, Runyankole, Lusoga, Acholi, English, and others.
For couples who notice the details. Cohesive, modern elegance — invitation through day-of stationery, all in one visual language.
A gentle, beautiful starting point. Warm, personal, and polished within a clear budget.
Curated, not custom-built. You choose from a set of refined directions; we personalise the typography, colour palette, and wording to make it yours.
When time is short, but care still matters. Speed and certainty, without sacrificing quality.
Digital proofs only — physical samples not possible at this speed.
Wording does not need to be intimidating. Here are practical guidelines to help you get started. We always review and refine your final wording as part of our process.
There is no right answer. If culture and elders are central, bilingual wording can feel respectful and inclusive. If most guests share one language, a single language keeps the design clean. We can incorporate cultural touches, patterns, motifs, phrases, without making the entire invitation bilingual.
Many couples keep guest names on the envelope only. It allows flexibility if the list changes before mailing. If you want names printed or calligraphed on the card itself, we can do this as an add-on, but it requires a finalised guest list early in the process.
| Piece | When to Send |
|---|---|
| Save the Dates | 4–6 months before (6–12 months for destination weddings) |
| Invitations (local) | 8–12 weeks before the wedding |
| Invitations (international) | 12–16 weeks before the wedding |
| RSVP deadline | 4–6 weeks before the wedding |
| Day-of stationery | Order and approve at least 3 weeks before |
Day-of stationery is what makes your guests' experience feel complete. It guides them, orients them, and gives them something beautiful to look at between moments. When it matches your invitation suite; same typography, same colour palette, same paper aesthetic. Your entire celebration becomes a cohesive visual world.

| Reserved Signs | "Reserved for Family" or "In Loving Memory" acknowledging loved ones who are absent. Handled with care. |

Life is a sequence of moments, each one carrying weight, each one deserving something real to hold it. Mpenzi was built on weddings, but it was always about more than that. The moments between the milestones matter too.

Commissions we approach with the most tenderness because the person receiving them is in the middle of something enormous.

Letters still matter. A handwritten letter on beautiful stationery says something a text message never can.
From UGX 250,000
The everyday is worth documenting beautifully. A pregnancy journal should not feel clinical. A travel journal should not feel generic.

Not every meaningful moment is a wedding. The 40th birthday, the graduation, the retirement these deserve stationery that reflects what they mean.
From UGX 200,000 · Priority Scheduling Available
We do not treat bereavement commissions lightly. They arrive at the hardest moments. Our role is to take this one thing off the family's shoulders and handle it with complete care, accuracy, and dignity.
From UGX 15,000 per card · Sets From UGX 80,000
A card arrives. It is held. It is placed on a shelf. It is found again six months later and read again. Digital messages don't do that.
You've built something serious. And yet, when a client leaves a meeting with you, what do they hold? If there is a gap between the excellence of your work and the quality of your printed materials, that gap is costing you. Not in one dramatic moment, but in the accumulated impression you make every time something leaves your office.

The finish is where stationery becomes truly memorable. The weight of a wax seal. The whisper of a vellum overlay. The silk of a ribbon that holds three cards together. These are the details that make your guests stop, look again, and understand without being told that someone cared deeply about every layer of this.

Stationery pricing reflects time, craft, materials, and production, not just number of cards. We always prepare a written quote before taking a deposit. All ranges below are indicative; your actual quote depends on quantity, design direction, paper choice, and finish.
Custom suites take longer and cost more than semi-custom directions. Custom monograms, illustrations, and bilingual typesetting all add design time.
Standard cardstock is efficient and cost-effective. Premium cotton stock (400–600gsm), handmade paper, and coloured boards carry a materials premium.
Digital print is most cost-effective. Letterpress, foil stamping, and embossing each add cost — and each adds a tactile quality that digital cannot replicate.
Wax seals, vellum overlays, ribbon ties, envelope liners, and layered assembly all add to cost — and to the experience. We will always explain the trade-off.
More guests means more printing, more assembly, more envelopes. Order at least 10–15% extra beyond your guest count to avoid costly small reprints later.
Swift and express projects carry a rush premium of +30–50% to protect quality and the team's workflow. This is always confirmed in writing upfront.

We offer samples in several ways, depending on your experience level, timeline, and the level of investment you are making.
Best when your project includes premium cotton paper, foiling, embossing, letterpress, or layered assembly. A physical sample lets you feel the texture and see the finish in real life before full production — critical for legacy projects.
Every client receives a detailed digital proof — showing all artwork, typography, and colour — before production begins. No piece goes to print without your explicit written approval. Always included, at every tier.
For clients who want to compare paper textures, foil finishes, and envelope styles before committing. Subject to availability at the studio. Allows you to feel paper weights, compare print methods, and choose with complete confidence.
We don't source the cheapest option that still photographs well. We source what is right for each commission — and sustainability guides every material decision we make. We believe beautiful things and responsible choices must coexist.
Recycled and sustainably sourced paper options available for every category
Tree-free alternatives — cotton paper and bamboo paper — available on request
Eco-friendly inks used across all digital print runs
Local sourcing wherever possible to reduce import and shipping emissions
Minimal waste in production — careful calculation of quantities to reduce offcuts and excess
Packaging designed to be reused or composted where possible
If you have specific sustainability requirements — recycled content, FSC certification, biodegradable packaging — tell us at enquiry and we will build it into your quote.
Yes. We recommend ordering at least 10–15 extra invitations beyond your confirmed guest count. Reprints are possible, but the per-unit cost is significantly higher on small runs, and colour matching can vary slightly between batches. Order generously the first time.
We don't copy other artists' work. We can use inspiration and create something original and true to your story — often something more specific and more beautiful than the reference you started with. Bring us your references. We'll build something from the ground up.
Please review all proofs extremely carefully before approving — we review them alongside you. Approved errors, where the error appeared in the approved proof, may require a reprint at your cost. If the error was introduced by us after your approval, we will reprint at no charge.
Rush service is available for most categories. Contact us with your date and scope and we'll confirm feasibility immediately. Rush projects carry a 30–50% premium on the base price, covering priority scheduling, fast proof cycles, and expedited production handling.
Yes. We have worked with clients in London, Nairobi, Dubai, Toronto, and across the diaspora. We ship internationally. For international clients, digital proofs are standard; physical samples are shipped at courier cost. We accommodate international time zones for consultation calls.
Because stationery is personalised, we do not accept returns. If you need to cancel, contact us immediately and we'll guide you based on the production stage. If production has not begun, we refund your deposit minus a design fee for work completed. If production has begun, the deposit is non-refundable.
Yes, by appointment. We prefer studio visits for Legacy and Corporate clients — seeing paper samples in person makes a significant difference in the decision-making process. Contact us to arrange a time in Kampala.
Yes, and we value these relationships deeply. We have a dedicated partner programme for event planners and wedding coordinators. Contact us to learn more about preferred pricing, referral structures, and how we support your clients together.
Always. We never expect a commitment before you understand what you're investing. Send us your date, event type, guest count, and approximate sense of what you want. We'll respond with a clear investment range within 24 hours.
Yes, for projects over UGX 3,000,000. Standard terms are 50% deposit to begin, balance before delivery. Payment plan structures are agreed in writing before work starts.
No long forms. No commitment. No pressure. Just tell us what you're creating — we'll guide you from there and respond with a clear investment range within 24 hours.
Reach us by WhatsApp, email, or Instagram — whichever feels most natural. Studio visits are available by appointment and strongly recommended for Legacy and Corporate projects.
